HUBUNGAN DIABETES MELITUS DENGAN KEJADIAN STROKE BERULANG PADA PASIEN POST STROKE DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH ACEH UTARA

Stroke merupakan penyebab kematian dan penyebab kecatatan terbesar di dunia karena menyebabkan deficit neurologis pada penderitanya seperti kelumpuhan otot, kelemahan menelan, kerusakan komunikasi, gangguan pengelihatan hingga menyebabkan kematian, penyakit stroke bisa saja berulang dan memberikan dampak yang parah dibandingkan dengan serangan awal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan diabetes melitus dengan kejadian stroke berulang pada pasien post stroke di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Aceh Utara. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelatif dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional Study. Teknik sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling yaitu sebanyak 154 pasien. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner karakteristik demografi pasien, Analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan diabetes melitus (p>0,05) dan obesitas (p>0,05) dengan kejadian stroke berulang. Tindakan pencegahan terjadinya stroke berulang salah satunya adalah dengan memberikan edukasi tentang pencegahan stroke berulang berkaitan dengan penyakit diabetes mellitus salah satunya dengan pola hidup sehat.
